Mangalitza Hair - Mangalitza Cheveux

What to do with it?

I noticed a posting made by 'Smiffy' aka Tracey on another forum, saying that she sent hers off to make fishing flies. Perhaps she could tell us more about that and perhaps show some pictures as well?

What ideas do other members have? Have you tried to use the Mangalitza hair?

J'ai remarqué un poster fait par Smiffy/Tracey sur un autre forum, disant qu'elle a envoyé le faire sien pêcher des mouches. Peut-être elle pourrait dire que nous plus de qu'et montre quelques images aussi ?

Quelles idées les autres membres ont-ils ? Avez-vous essayé d'utiliser les cheveux de Mangalitza ?

I know in my research, in the past they made ?? with the pig hair
I am going to take a shot and say some sort of duvet or blanket!! sorry !!

I regularly send little clippings from my swallowbellied to America to an agent who makes the hair into flies for fishing. It has long been the tradition to make flies with the hair from pigs especially the Mangalitza. He has sent me pictures of a few of the flies he has made and they are such a work of art, unfortunately we are on dial up here and it takes an age to do anything with images so I can,t post the pictures at this time.
The fishing season has ended here now and the hunting season is in full swing, we have hounds regularly around our land but they don,t seem to bother the pigs.

J'envoie régulièrement de petites coupures de mon swallowbellied Mangalitza à Amérique à un agent qui fait les cheveux dans les mouches pour pêcher. Il a été longtemps la tradition pour faire des mouches avec les cheveux des cochons surtout le Mangalitza. Il m'a envoyé les images de peu d'entre les mouches il a fait et ils sont une telle oeuvre d'art, malheureusement nous sommes sur le cadran en haut ici et il prend un âge pour faire n'importe quoi avec les images si je peux, t poste les images en ce moment. La saison de pêche a terminé ici maintenant et la saison de chasse est en pleine activité, nous avons des chien régulièrement autour de notre terre mais ils mettent, t semble ennuyer les cochons.

I too read about this somewhere- but where I can not remember, will be interested to know how and if there is a market for the hair.

Also read that some folks shear their Mangalitzas in the summer, does anyone else do this. I dont but always up for a challenge especially with Bessie my 8 yr old female.!!!!!!!!! any volunteers welcome to assist.


J'ai lu aussi de ceci quelque part - où je ne peux pas me rappeler. Je serai intéressé pour savoir si et où il y a une demande pour les cheveux.

Je lis aussi que quelques gens tondent leur Mangalitzas en été. Fait-quelqu'un d'autre ceci ? J'ai mis mais je suis toujours prêt pour un défi, surtout avec Bessie, mon 8 an vieille femelle. !!!!!!!!!
