Registering your pigs with the BPA

Is anyone having problems registering their pigs with the BPA.

I picked up a thread on the River Cottage website which said there were problems. Is this a one off or are there ongoing problems

Have sucessfully registered other breed pigs with the BPA, but havnt yet tried with the Mangalitzas, what are the problems others are having?

I registered mine online a couple of weeks ago and no issues, the new owners were on the site herdbook within a week.

I received my Autum newsletter today from the BPA and noticed 5 new members just breeding Mangalitzas, maybe soon they will be here too

Hi Carole,

Got my newsletter as well and I,m one of the new recruits as a registered breeder of Mangalitza's. I,m in the process of registering 2 of my piglets and have no problems so far. I telephoned the BPA and spoke to one of their staff and she was most helpful talking me through the process, I wanted to make sure I was doing everything okay as it was my first time registering piglets.

Does anyone know if A.I. is an option with Mangalitza breeding?

As for AI, my advice would be to contact Deerpark, they are really helpful, not only do they tell you what bloodlines etc, but also how and when to order all the things you need.
