Can I please moan about the weather?????????????

We are knee deep in mud already, having moved all the pigs to better draining land, better shelters and more orgainised.........well obviously NOT.

The little piggies, Tamworths and GOS all look like little Mangalitzas, they will not stay in the arc.

Sorry moan over, and it all started with a hole in my wellie.....

All have a good day please

Ditto! It is only October so really nothing to look forward to at all!

Our pigs are all the same colour, and WELLIES - don't talk to me about wellies!! Mine seem to take it in from the top! Every seed, every drop of rain from my coat leaks down in - it is disgusting! The kitten peed in one of them, and yes that is how I found out - foot in!

And another thing - the hose - everytime I put the connection on, I turn it on and woosh, straight in the face - every single time. I hate that. I cannot see through my glasses, stuff of the most digusting description gets stuck to my face - I moved a chicken to a higher purch last night to make room for the turkey - splat in my face - yes that. And I licked - sort of instinct. Disgusting, everything is disgusting!!

What ever are we going to do? I am going to have to get the duckies slaughtered early, because the rain is just what they like, and they are destroying everything, having a fantastic time 'ducking' around.

Did we have a summer? Can anyone remember? Little memory?

Moan over!

PostSubject: wet weather   Tue Oct 07, 2008 9:03 pm

I feel strangely re-assured that it is not just us here in Ireland (the inventors of bogs) that are up to our knees in mud. I have never known it to be so bad. Are pigs really happy as a pig in it? I have worried more over my Mangalitza piglets than I ever did with my own children: does this make me a bad mother or a caring pig keeper???

This wet weather must stop we are all a bit bored with it now. Feels good to get that off loaded...... thanks

Morhogs

Thanks so much for sharing the weather in Ireland, makes me feel not so bad now, thought it was just France suffering.

We all worry about the little ones, but they have clean dry shelters but still choose to lie in deep sludge!!!!! I guess, yes they do like it, but we are very careful now to watch closely at the depth of the mud, last year I read a posting on another site of a large pig getting well and truely stuck.

Luckily today has been sunny and DRY
